PROBLEM
Why lines around the mouth
are uniquely difficult.
The mouth is surrounded by the orbicularis oris, a muscle that moves thousands of times each day,
and the skin here is thin with few sebaceous glands, which makes it prone to dryness.
The aging mechanism around the mouth is fundamentally different from other areas.
-
Complex
muscle structureA radial network of muscles for speaking, chewing and expression converges around the mouth. Because the area folds in multiple directions, lines tend to form deeply and in combination.
-
Influence of
skeletal changeWith age, the maxilla and mandible recede, reducing structural support for the surrounding soft tissue. Deepening nasolabial folds and the emergence of marionette lines are not only a skin issue, but a bone issue as well.
-
Volume loss and
skin thinning at
the same timeAs the fat pads around the mouth atrophy, the skin folds, and dermal collagen declines in parallel, making it harder for established lines to return to their original state.
-
The area where
age shows firstEyes can be hidden behind sunglasses and the forehead behind bangs. The mouth area cannot. That is why it is often the first sign of aging that both you and others notice.
Why Botox is not used freely around the mouth.
Botox can relax muscles around the forehead and eyes relatively safely.
The mouth is different. It is surrounded by muscles responsible for speaking, eating and smiling,
and incorrect injection can cause functional issues such as lip asymmetry, altered speech or food spillage.
-
Risk of lip asymmetry
The muscles around the mouth work slightly differently on the left and right sides. Even a small variation in Botox dose can disturb that balance and lead to asymmetry. The level of difficulty is far higher than around the eyes or forehead.
-
Risk of reduced function
Excessive relaxation of the orbicularis oris can make actions like using a straw or pursing the lips harder. A cosmetic procedure can lead to daily inconvenience, which is why this area must be approached with caution.
-
A structure Botox alone cannot solve
Lip and mouth lines arise from a combination of muscle contraction, skeletal recession, volume loss and dermal damage. Relaxing the muscle alone cannot reverse a nasolabial fold or marionette line that has already deepened.
THE GARDEN SOLUTION
For the mouth area,
rebuild the structure rather than rely on Botox.
Volume support + dermal regeneration + recovery of elasticity.
An approach that rebuilds the collapsed structure without disturbing muscle function.
-
01Volume support restoration
Lost volume around the mouth is restored with filler or a collagen stimulator. This step rebuilds the soft-tissue scaffold that is the root cause of deepening nasolabial folds and marionette lines.
-
02Secret RF / Thermage
RF energy is delivered directly to the dermis through micro needles. On thin, delicate perioral skin, it encourages collagen remodeling and helps smooth lines that have become set, working from within.
-
03Rejuran
PN (polynucleotide) supports the regeneration of damaged dermal cells. It helps restore the thickness and resilience of skin around the mouth and slow the redeepening of lines.
-
04Botox (precise, only when indicated)
For specific muscles such as the DAO (depressor anguli oris), we use the minimum effective dose with precise placement. The aim is to prevent the corners of the mouth from drooping, while staying within a safe range that does not affect lip function.
